Crocheted golf club covers allow a golfer to protect his clubs in style. Crochet a golf club cover using worsted weight yarn and a size H hook; you can make it in one color or two for a striped effect. You will need a basic understanding of crochet to complete the golf club cover, but the project is uncomplicated enough for a crochet novice or a teenager who wants to make a homemade gift for a golfing parent.

    Things You'll Need

    • One ball worsted weight yarn
    • Crochet hook H
    • Scissors
    • Large eye blunt needle

Chain two, and make five single crochet stitches in the second chain from the hook, joining with a slip stitch to form a circle. Increase in the next round by making two single crochet stitches in every stitch around, for a total of 10 stitches. Increase the next round by making one single crochet in the first stitch followed by two in the next stitch, and repeating this pattern around for a total of 15 stitches. For the next round, increase by making one single crochet stitch in the first two stitches followed by two in the next and repeating this pattern around for a total of 20 stitches. Continue to increase your circle in this manner until you have 40 stitches in a round.

Crochet one single crochet stitch in every stitch around. In the next round, make six single crochet stitches and crochet two stitches together, repeating this sequence until the end of the round, for a total of 35 stitches. Repeat this row to decrease until you have 20 stitches left in a round.

Work evenly on 20 stitches for five rounds. Then increase the next two rounds for a total of 30 stitches, following the increase method. Crochet evenly around these 30 stitches for 10 rounds. Cut the working yarn with a 4-inch tail, make a slip stitch to secure the yarn and use a large eye blunt needle to weave in the loose ends.

    • Add stripes to the golf club cover by switching yarn colors every five rows.
    • Do not crochet too tightly, it will be difficult to add stitches.
